Police arrest man for be#ting his pregnant wife to de@th over N500
A man identified simply as ThankGod has been arrested by the police in Rivers State for allegedly be#ting his pregnant wife to de@th in Port Harcourt area of the state.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022 at their residence in Mgbuoba.
It was gathered that the deceased, identified simply as Ruth, initially moved out of her matrimonial home due to incessant be#tings from her husband. But, however, returned home with her four children after he begged her and promised to turn a new leaf.
According to a source, “He be#ts her constantly despite several interventions from friends and neighbors alike. Yesterday evening, he gave her N500 to cook rice but the lady said she can’t cook because she was ill, and he started be#ting her again, even though she was pregnant with their 5th child.
Neighbors tried to stop him but he told them it’s a family matter, he dr@gged her into the house and kept h#tting her. When he realized she was no longer breathing, he dressed her up and covered her with a wrapper and tried to run away.
His little daughter, however, raised an alarm and he was caught and handed over to the police. This happened around 2 am on Wednesday.”
