President Buhari has reacted to Friday’s helicopter crash at Salvation Road, Opebi area of Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

A Bell 206 helicopter belonging to Quorum Aviation crashed at 16A Salvation Opebi road in Lagos state, killion two and leaving one injured.

Reacting to the development, Buhari, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, commiserated with the families, friends and associates of victims of the Bell 206 helicopter operated by Quorum Aviation which crashed on Friday.

He said the nation was still awaiting report of investigation into the accident by the aviation regulatory agencies.

According to him,

“While the nation awaits report of investigation into the accident by aviation regulatory agencies, the President prays that God will console the bereaved families, grant peace to the souls of the dead and speedy recovery for the injured.”

Earlier, the Director General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said the Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, had retrieved the black box.

He added that the Bureau had also transported the wreck of the aircraft to their office for further investigations.

He said;

‘The affected buildings will be subjected to integrity testing while the entire area will be fumigated.

“Members of the public are advised to remain calm and be assured of Mr Governor’s commitment to the safety of life and property within Lagos State. Updates will follow on from the result of the investigation.
