Reno Omokri reveals the Real Reason Buhari Named Abuja Stadium After MKO Abiola

Reno Omokri, former newly elected president Goodluck Jonathan’s Senior adviser on Online media, said the June 12 statement of President Muhammadu Buhari as Democracy Day is a hopeless effort to obtain unmerited goodwill from Nigerians.

Omokri said, according to the Tribune, the adminstration of Buhari had turned Nigeria into one of the world’s poorest countries, discrediting the public persona of the late MKO Abiola, known for his benevolence and dedication to the enfranchisement of the poor.

“It has brought to my attention that the Buhari presidency, humiliated that not a single former president or former head of state attended the celebration of Muhammad Buhari on 12 June, spreads stories through faceless organizations and hopes to grace the titles of tomorrow’s documents to the impact that former president Goodluck Jonathan refused to rebrand the Abuja National Stadium despite advice,

According to Omokri, the notion that Jonathan did not honor Abiola is a “baseless claim.”

Omokri had previously stated that former President Jonathan honored Chief MKO Abiola at the first occasion of his appointment as President on May 29, 2012, by renaming the University of Lagos after the politician against whom UNILAG learners protested.

“Which is more distinguished and which would involve more bravery to rename between the national stadium and the University of Lagos?

“It would also be recalled that even during his presidency, former President Jonathan took several other brave choices, including the dismissal of two ministers when they were faced questions of misconduct.

“There have been a number of severe and demonstrated instances of misconduct involving ministers of Muhammadu Buhari, including two events involving obviously defined instances of forgery of certificates. Has Mr. Buhari had the bravery to take action against them?”He added that Buhari’s bid to obtain” unserved goodwill “from June 12’s statement as Democracy Day had failed.

“But after all residing former Nigerian leaders and the only Nobel laureate in Nigeria lambasted him, he had to whip up a tale to fulfill his visitors, some of whom, like President Paul Kagame, criticised him to his face.

“Let me mention here for the prevention of suspicion that the slogan for the Hope 93 campaign of Chief MKO Abiola was’ Farewell to Poorness.’ Presently, Buhari, a man who has made Nigeria the centre of the world for grinding poverty, intends to reap the goodwill of Abiola, “he said, arguing that it was not feasible for Buhari to achieve any goodwill by making Jonathan, a man who has made Nigeria the fifth fastest-growing nation in the world, his bogeyman.

“It’s no wonder, therefore, that those who really knows and loves Chief Abiola wished to remain away from such a farce,” added Omokri.
