The Senate has urged employers of labour in the country to de-emphasise age requirements as a precondition for employment in Nigeria.
The Senate resolution was a sequel to the consideration and adoption of a motion at plenary on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
The motion titled “Age Requirement Precondition for Employment in Nigeria, Urgent Need for Intervention” was sponsored by Senator Abba Moro (PDP- Benue).

Lol. Where is the employment that you are seeking to remove age limit from? From private businesses created in one of the most brutish business environments. While this may seem to be a good idea, it is the least of our worries. We are too busy and too good at writing and churning out laws, where are the judges that uphold them? The police that enforces them? The neutral executive that appoints all these people? Until we get 2 + 2 = 4 right, there is no point solving for X. Eji ya esi ofe.
