The Super Falcons of Nigeria stars have said they are stuck at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja following their arrival from AWCON qualifier.
Recall, the Super Falcons booked their place at this year’s Africa Women Cup of Nations in Morocco after defeating the Lady Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in Abidjan on Wednesday evening, February 23. The team qualified with a 3 – 0 aggregate after the previous 2 – 0 victory in Abuja last Friday.
On their return to Nigeria from Abidjan on Thursday morning, the team said they arrived at 12 AM and have been stuck at the airport for 4 hours ”because of Covid.”
Super Falcons defender, Francisca Ordega, shared a video of the players at the airport around 4 AM on her Insta Stories with the caption; ”I can’t believe we play a game, travel all the way from Abidjan to Abuja and this people are refusing us to go out”
“What a shame on our country. I’m so angry” she added
