The city of Umuahia, Abia State capital, is far behind in aesthetics to be called a State capital.
Governor Alex Otti made this observation at Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA of the State during the thanksgiving service of Hon Obi Aguocha, new member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency.
Otti regretted that the present outlook of the Umuahia town does not correspond with its status as a state capital.
He promised that his administration would soon begin the remodeling of Umuahia.
He also pleaded with civil servants in the State to be patient with his administration as salaries and pensions would be paid by the end of June.
Otti, who blamed insertion of fictitious figures for the delay in payment of salaries and pensions, assured workers and retirees that they would get their payments by month end.
He further said that new cabinet of the State would be unveiled by month end.
