Ohanaeze Reacts To Supreme Court Ruling On Nnamdi Kanu

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo-led factional leader,  Chidi Ibeh, has disclosed that it would back IPOB Eastern Security network and other Indigenous security outfits to halt any form of criminalities in the South East region.

Ibeh, in a statement by Kalu Mkpa, a media aide to the factions Secretary-General, noted that the leadership of the body has moved to bring all stakeholders in Igbo land, including Southeast Governors, Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) and youths on the same page in order to protect the territorial integrity of Igbo nation against herdsman and extremists invasion.

Recalls that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had launched the Eastern Security Network, ESN.

The IPOB leader had said ESN was formed to protect the Southeast from marauding Fulani herdsmen and other criminal elements.

Kanu also disclosed that ESN was not different from Amotekun in the Southwest and Miyetti Allah in the North.

But, according to Ibeh’s group in a statement on Sunday, ”whether it is called, Eastern Security Network of IPOB or the proposed joint security outfit by Southeast Governors or Ogbunigwe security forces, we will ensure that external invasions from outside will be stopped without further delay.

On the economic development of Igbo land, Ibeh said it would assist in the full realization of “Enyimba Economic City” Aba, the revamp of Enugu coal mine, resuscitation of Port Harcourt-Maiduguri railways with rail links and connections with all Igbo state capitals and commercial cities especially Onitsha-Owerri-Aba link.

“The new leadership lauds President Muhammadu Buhari’s developmental strides in Southeast especially upgrading of Akanu Ibiam international airport Enugu and approval of Ebonyi State international airport, the reopening of Onitsha dry seaport after 47 years and establishment of another seaport in Akwaete in Ukwa west 15km to Atlantic ocean, the new leadership demand from President Muhammadu Buhari an additional state for the southeast”.
