President Bola Tinubu’s move to end the ongoing rift between Rivers State governor, Simi Fubara and the Federal Capital Terrritory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike, has collapsed.

This was disclosed on Thursday by Tony Okocha, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State caretaker committee chairman.

Assessing newsmen, Okocha said the move by Tinubu to end the strained relationship between Fubara and Wike has broken down.

“I wasn’t part of it, but whatever that was it, has broken down, and it has been broken irreconcilably.”

DAILY POST reported that Tinubu had before now made an attempt to broker peace between the two politicians.

However, the crisis took a new turn with the demolition of the state House of Assembly Complex and defection of 27 members of the assembly, loyal to Wike, to the APC.

Meanwhile, Okocha claimed that the four members of the state House of Assembly led by the court backed Speaker, Edison Ehie, who sat and passed the budget presented to them by the governor, “were dwelling on illegality”.

According to him, their action would not stand.

Okocha further disclosed that the APC was wooing Wike to defect to the party.

He said Wike would become the party’s leader in the state as soon as he becomes a member of the APC.
