World Bank staff allegedly crushed to death with a car by her husband

A Nigerian woman mourn by her Friends after she was allegedly crushed to death by her husband as she tried to stop him from driving out of the compound with her phone.
The woman’s husband identified as Makanjuola Ayedun is a native of Isanlu community, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The incident occurred at Gwagwalada, Abuja, on Friday, May 14, 2021 around 10pm. Ayedun allegedly knocked down his wife, Mrs Nike Ayedun, a staff member of World Bank office Abuja.
The victim who is a mother of two boys, was reportedly the breadwinner of the family as her husband was not employed.
On seeing that his wife is dead, the man flee the scene. However, a source revealed to SaharaReporters that the incident was not an accident and that the man always assaulted his wife.
“The whole issue started when Nike discovered that the safe box she had got for the purpose of saving money for her son, who demanded a huge birthday party, had been broken by her husband. She then confronted him about it. That was how the husband started beating her.
“After beating the hell out of her in the house, he collected her phone so that she could not call anyone. The man went outside and turned on his car’s engine while he came down to open gate. Nike ran to the gate demanding her phone. The husband said he would crush and kill her, and before she knew what was happening, the man knocked her down with full force while reversing the car,” the source tells publication.
