Court Clears Ibom Air Passenger of Unruly Conduct, orders her discharge
An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, on Wednesday discharged Comfort Emmanson, a passenger previously accused of unr+ly behaviour and a§§ault aboard an Ibom Air flight.
Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police formally withdrew the case. Emmanson had been accused of disrupting peace on the flight, a§§aulting a crew member, and acting in a way capable of breaching public order, charges to which she pleaded not guilty at her arraignment.
During Wednesday’s proceedings, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that both the complainant and the airline were no longer interested in pursuing the matter. She said the withdrawal was based on instructions from police authorities.
Magistrate Salami granted the application and ordered Emmanson’s discharge.
