Ladan Salihu, a chieftain of the ADC coalition, has stated that the recent EFCC investigation of former Governor Aminu Tambuwal and Emeka Ihedioha seems like a political witch-hunt.
In an interview with Daily Trust TV, Salihu said Ihedioha, a high-profile politician from Imo State and member of the ADC, was governor for only seven months. He said it took EFCC seven years after Ihedioha left office to invite him for questioning over alleged financial irregularities during his administration, and this happened on the same day that PDP member Aminu Tambuwal was also invited by EFCC
Salihu said the EFCC has the right to investigate or arrest anyone suspected of financial crime, however, the agency should not go about it in a way that would seem like it is witch-hunting members of opposition parties.
In Salihu’s words: “A member of the ADC also a high-profile politician from Imo State Emeka Ihedioha was invited. Nigerian will ask you and me someone who has been a governor for 7 months, it took 7 years for him to be invited on the same day that Tambuwal was equally invited”
