Empowering Your Woman Brings Problems — Businessman Don Sylvester Nweke Sparks Debate

Businessman Don Sylvester Nweke has ignited fresh debate following his appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he described what he believes to be hard-earned principles for men in marriage.

During the podcast, he claimed marital problems begin when a man empowers his partner.

“Your problem starts as a man the day you open business for your wife or girlfriend. The day you empower her, your problem starts,” he said, recalling his own marriage struggles. “I have an ex-wife, I bought her a car, took her abroad, and even opened a mini supermarket for her. Despite all this, our relationship eventually faltered.”

Nweke further promoted polygamy as a path to harmony, arguing multiple wives create balance. He cited a case of a couple whose 50-year marriage collapsed after a DNA test revealed only their last daughter was the husband’s biological child. “Fifty years of a Christian woman staying at home, not going out—you can vouch for that. As an African man, I believe marrying multiple wives brings peace because many wives give peace,” he said.

His views drew pushback from radio host Daddy Freeze, who countered, “My father married two wives, there was no peace.” The remark sparked a heated exchange on whether polygamy prevents conflict.

Nweke, in his response said, “He should have married more. Like I am, I have a wife in London, America, Kenya, and many are chasing me online,” he declared, reinforcing his belief that polygamy, when practiced properly, ensures domestic peace.
