Don’t Abscond, Nigeria Remains Home — President Tinubu Tells Pilgrims
President Bola Tinubu has cautioned Nigerian Christian pilgrims travelling to Israel and Jordan against absconding, reminding them that “there is no country like Nigeria.”
Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, during the flag-off of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission’s 2025 Delayed Easter Pilgrimage, Tinubu urged the pilgrims to uphold patriotism and dignity.
He stressed that those who refuse to return with their groups risk losing respect and dignity abroad, adding that Nigeria offers its citizens recognition and freedom that cannot be found while staying illegally in foreign countries.
The President urged the pilgrims to return with their batch and contribute to building a just and fair society at home.
