Businessman raises alarm over ongoing child abuse of a 10-year-old girl by her father’s girlfriend in Oko Afo, Badagry, Lagos State

A disturbing case of alleged child abuse has surfaced in Oko Afo, Badagry, Lagos State, after a local resident, identified as Kelvin Etaba, raised alarm over the continuous maltreatment of a 10-year-old girl reportedly living with her father’s girlfriend.

In a series of messages shared by Etaba with Instablog9ja, he alleged that the woman, who has been in a relationship with the girl’s father, has been physically ab¥sing the child for over seven years. According to him, neighbors in the community confirmed that the ab¥se has been ongoing and often takes place late at night to avoid intervention.

“She has been maltreating her for over seven years now and the neighbors are aware. Anytime they try to stop her from b+ating the girl, she f+ghts with them,” Etaba claimed.

He further stated that despite taking the matter to the local community leader (Baale), no serious action was taken, as the Baale allegedly downplayed the issue, advising the woman merely to “control her anger.”

In one of the messages, Etaba alleged that the woman has inflicted severe physical and psychological h+rm on the child, even making shocking claims that she once used a stick to a§§ault the girl.

“The girl needs help,” he wrote. “This is how she maltreated her senior brothers and now they are nowhere to be found. The truth will come out when the right authorities hear about it.”

The father is living in the same house with her,” Etaba explained. “She [the woman] accused the girl of stealing her money but could not say how much. She’s evil. Please, the world needs to see this,” Etaba wrote.

Etaba appeals to relevant authorities, including the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the Nigeria Police, and child rights organizations, to intervene urgently.

He added that neighbors in Oko Afo are ready to testify if called upon by the authorities.
