Enugu Cabinet Members Defect to APC Ahead of Gov Mbah’s Move
Several members of the Enugu State cabinet have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the anticipated defection of Governor Peter Mbah to the ruling party.
The defectors include Dr Lawrence Ezeh, Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology; Dr Amaka Ngene, Chairman of the Science, Technical and Vocational Schools Management Board; and Dr Felix Nnamani, Commissioner for Labour and Employment.
In a video shared on Monday by Dan Nwomeh, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, the cabinet members were seen together, proudly identifying with their new political platform.
“Enugu State Cabinet Members join the APC with full chest along with Governor PN Mbah – from left to right, Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, the Prince of Mburumbu, Dr Lawrence Ezeh; Chairman of the Science, Technical and Vocational Schools Management Board, Dr Amaka S. Ngene; and Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Dr Felix Nnamani,” Nwomeh wrote on X.
Governor Mbah, who was elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, is widely expected to formally announce his defection to the APC in the coming days.
Meanwhile, videos circulating online show that the APC flag has already been hoisted at the Enugu Government House, fueling further speculation about the governor’s imminent move to the ruling party.
