Nnamdi Kanu Opens Defence, Lists 23 Witnesses Including Wike, Sanwo-Olu and Ex-Military Chiefs

… Urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu To Hearken To The Voice Of Nigerians And Release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

The recent call on Nationwide Protest as was made by the former presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC) and distinguished activist Comrade Omoyele Sowore for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra has been described by Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) the Apex sociocultural Youth organization of Igbo Youths Worldwide led by Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka as the first-ever pan-Nigerian protest inspired to demand immediate and unconditional release Nnamdi Kanu.

In a demonstration of patriotism, we endorse the call for the 20th October protest demanding Nnamdi Kanu’s release, as initiated by Comrade Omoyele Sowore.

Nigerians must be circumspect and judicious in their dealings, particularly with regards to matters of national interest and peaceful coexistence.

The October 20th National Protest at Aso Rock Villa is not Comrade Omoyele Sowore’s protest, but rather a PAN-Nigeria Protest advocating/demanding for the Unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB)

We earnestly caution against a few opinions or individuals describing the protest as a way of seeking attention by Comrade Omoyele Sowore.

The records show that police brutality and injustice led to the EndSars protest, which impacts Nigerians. In the same vein, injustice anywhere is a universal injustice, and the prolonged prosecution and incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu since 2015 at DSS Dungeon, which has affected the entire Southeast geopolitical zone, should be of paramount concern to every reasonable and progressive Nigerian.

The recent urgent and persuasive call to release Nnamdi Kanu by concern Nigerians became evidently clear when the Boko Haram and Bandits were pampered, granted amnesty and reintegrated into the Nigerian Army, this has sparkled nationwide interest and global questions why the federal government still incarcerating Nnamdi Kanu.

The essence of the 20th October PAN-Nigeria Protest is that all Nigerians, irrespective of their tribe, zone or religion, are equal and deserve the same treatment or justice system, whether from the North or Southeast.

The PAN-Nigeria protest regarding the release of Nnamdi Kanu serves as a direct warning to the federal government that if they consider Nnamdi Kanu a terrorist, he should receive a pardon and be released similar to other Boko Haram and bandits in Northern Nigeria. But whereas Nnamdi Kanu crime is seeking for REFERENDUM, Nigerian expects “discharged and acquitted” to Nnamdi kanu.

Furthermore, the PAN- Nigerian protesters are simply demanding from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that what is suitable for the gander is also suitable for the goose. Nnamdi Kanu can’t be judged with a different law, detained, incarcerated and prosecuted while Boko Haram and Bandits are forgiven and reintegrated into the Nigeria Army and the Society.

The October 20th PAN-Nigeria protest over the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is fostering national awareness about the injustice meted out to Nnamdi Kanu due to his tribal identity, rather than any crime committed.

The PAN-Nigeria Protest embodies a poignant inquiry by discerning Nigerians, challenging the federal government of Nigeria’s justification for engaging in talks with Boko Haram and bandits, yet declining to engage in a dialogue with the Indigenous People of Biafra and their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

To individuals wondering about the benefits or outcomes of the protest, or whether President Bola Tinubu will release Nnamdi Kanu due to the protest, it is vital to understand that since Comrade Omoyele Sowore initiated the protest, a significant number of Nigerians across different geopolitical Zones have been contributing their voices, uniting, seeking a unified solution and political answer to Nnamdi Kanu’s case.

Lately, following Omoyele Sowore’s call for protest, I have observed few individuals, particularly Igbos, who have the privilege of internet access, posting on social media without in-depth knowledge. The analysis and diverse opinions presented on social media seem to be based on incomplete information about the struggle of Biafra and Indigenous People Of Biafra activities. Some individuals are seeking to attract attention or create content without recognizing that Nnamdi Kanu’s detention is not because of allegations of terrorism.

The circumstances of Nnamdi Kanu’s abduction from Kenya and detention at the DSS Dungeon represent the most substantial hidden political conspiracy in Africa and globally today. A credible discussion of IPOB or insecurity in the Southeast requires knowledge of the truth and an understanding of conspiracy theory.

The ongoing adjournments in Nnamdi Kanu’s trial are a deliberate and calculated attempt to delay justice. In accordance with Nigerian law and international law, the Federal Government of Nigeria lacks the legal authority to initiate or conclude a trial against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. This is a fact that Nigerians are not aware of, and I would like to bring it to your attention that the Nigerian government cannot conclude a trial against Nnamdi Kanu in any Nigerian court. The circumstances surrounding Nnamdi Kanu’s abduction from Kenya rendered it impossible for the federal government to conclude a trial against him. If the Nigerian government were to conclude a trial against Nnamdi Kanu, it would be viewed as a terrorist nation under international law.

The federal government has carried out a comprehensive investigation of the Sun and found no incriminating evidence against him. They have analyzed the Moon and found nothing objectionable. They have searched beneath the earth and found no reason for indictment. They have examined the bottom of the Ocean and found no evidence of wrongdoing. However, Britain in cooperation with the oppressive Nigerian government has detained him at the DSS Dungeon for 4 years for requesting a referendum.

The PAN-Nigeria Protest demanding the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu assumes great symbolic and historic importance, as it signifies the first time Nigerians have rallied together to pursue national healing and sincere reconciliation, in reaction to the injustices meted out to Nnamdi Kanu by the federal government.

The PAN-Nigeria Protest should have been perceived as tribalistic if initiated by an Igbo individual, but such a patriotic call from Comrade Omoyele Sowore should be welcomed by Ndigbo and well-meaning Nigerians in the spirit of justice, fairness, and equity.

I hereby call upon Igbo political leaders at all levels, both past and present, Governors, Senators, Federal House of Representatives, House of Representatives, religious leaders, Catholic Bishops, Anglican Bishops, Methodist Bishops, Seventh Day Adventist Bishop etc, traditional leaders to raise their banner of protest for the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu.

Lastly, I advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to avert Nigeria’s slide into chaos, turmoil and in the interest of national integration, political stability, and ethnic cohesiveness, to respond to the voice of Nigerians by directing the attorney general of the federal to withdraw all cases against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and grant him unconditional release.
