Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS).
Wike left Abuja on Sunday and touched down in Dubai around 4 a.m. on Monday.
He was received at the airport by Nigeria’s Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, along with senior officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration who arrived ahead of him.
Those on the reception team included the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda; Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu; Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima; Director of Engineering Services, Engr. Chuks Udeh; and the Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura.
In a statement issued by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike is scheduled to lead a discussion panel on Tuesday, where he will respond to questions and share perspectives on Abuja’s ongoing development and urban planning efforts.
Olayinka added that the summit offers a platform for the FCT Minister to engage with mayors and city leaders from around the world.
“The Minister will be participating in a high-level panel session, where he will highlight Abuja’s developmental strides and exchange ideas with other city leaders on sustainable urban growth,” he said.
The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum serves as a global meeting point for cities, governments, and investors exploring trade and development opportunities across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
