Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was reportedly left stunned after his girlfriend confessed she had feelings for his best friend before they started dating.
In a candid conversation, the woman revealed that she initially had romantic interest in Haaland’s friend but changed her mind after getting to know the Norwegian star better.
“He was the one I did like first, but when I saw you, I changed my view from him to you,” she admitted.
She went on to say, “And then you had a very nice son. I do think it’s fake, but you don’t. I’ve asked you this question before, and you were like, ‘You think?’”
Sources close to the couple said Haaland was taken aback by the revelation but remained calm during the discussion. The 25-year-old footballer, known for his reserved personality off the pitch, reportedly didn’t offer much of a reaction, appearing more surprised than upset.
Haaland, who has been in a private relationship with his longtime girlfriend — identified in media reports as Isabel Haugseng Johansen, a fellow Norwegian and childhood acquaintance — has always kept his personal life away from public drama.
The pair, who met in their hometown of Bryne, have been dating for several years, and Johansen is often seen supporting Haaland during Manchester City games and Norway’s international fixtures.
Fans have expressed mixed reactions online, with some praising Haaland’s composure, while others questioned the girlfriend’s decision to reveal such personal details.
