Elderly Woman Sh%t D+ad as B@ndits Att+ck Kano Village, Kidn+p Three Residents

An elderly woman has been sh%t d+ad following a vi%lent att+ck on Yankamaye village in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State. The incident occurred late Saturday as residents prepared to retire for the night, leaving the farming community in shock.

At least three villagers were kidn+pped during the raid. Witnesses said the att+ckers rode into the area on motorcycles but abandoned them at a distance before proceeding on foot to launch the a+sa¥lt.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said security operatives had been deployed to track down the perpetrators. He assured that efforts were underway to rescue the abd¥cted residents and restore calm to the area.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, during the recent Executive Council Meeting at Government House Kano, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling rising security thr+ats across the state. He warned that b@ndits, kidn+ppers, and cattle rustlers had been attempting to infiltrate several northern local government areas, listing Kunchi, Tsanyawa, Gwarzo, Kabo, Sumaila, Shanono, Tudun Wada, Doguwa, and Rogo among affected regions.

The governor urged residents to remain calm, noting that coordinated security operations were ongoing, while also supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration of a national emergency on security, describing it as a bold and necessary step to curb growing thr+ats across the North.
