Primate Ayodele Denies N150 Million Spiritual Extortion Allegation by Power Minister Adelabu

Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has dismissed claims by Bayo Adelabu, minister of power, that he attempted to ext%rt N150 million for “spiritual intercession” to secure the Oyo governorship. Speaking during Sunday service at his Lagos church, Ayodele described Adelabu as a “small boy” who “doesn’t understand what he is saying,” insisting the N150 million figure is insignificant compared to his possessions.

Adelabu had petitioned the DSS, alleging Ayodele demanded 1,000 saxophones/trumpets priced from N50 million for used Nigerian-grade instruments to N130 million for imported grade-one to support his political ambitions. According to the minister, his refusal led Ayodele to make false prophecies aimed at tarnishing his reputation. Adelabu, who previously contested the Oyo governorship twice, plans to run again in 2027.

Responding, Ayodele said the minister approached him out of desperation, offering anything to become governor. The cleric rejected the extortion claims, saying: “Can N150 million buy my car? The shoe I wear, can N150 million buy it?” He added that his prophecies are not for personal gain or to impress others, emphasizing he neither collected money nor solicited Adelabu’s attention.

Ayodele concluded by dismissing the minister’s allegations as the words of someone frustrated by political defeat, urging people to ignore such claims and warning against giving attention to those who speak recklessly.
