The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted and seized no fewer than 907 p+lls of controlled substances concealed in containers of local black soap and designer wears at two major courier companies in Lagos.
The seizure, which took place between Tuesday, December 9, and Wednesday, December 10, 2025, involved six different consignments destined for the United States, Canada and Sweden.
According to a statement on Sunday, December 14, 2025, by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the intercepted dr¥gs included tr@madol, t+pentadol, cocodamol, amitriptyline and bromazepam.
NDLEA operatives uncovered the ill+cit substances during routine inspection and profiling of outbound parcels at the courier facilities, noting that tr+fficjers had adopted increasingly deceptive methods to evade detection by disguising dr¥gs as legitimate export items.
He reiterated the agency’s commitment to disrupting dr¥g tr+fficking networks and preventing Nigerian export channels from being used to supply ill+cit dr¥gs to foreign countries, warning that individuals and syndicates involved in such crimes would be tracked down and prosecuted.
The NDLEA urged members of the public and logistics operators to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious consignments and activities.
