A House of Representatives member was reportedly stoned and beaten today in Zamfara State by angry youths over alleged non-performance.
According to reports, the incident occurred during Governor Dauda Lawal’s visit to Dansadau. Youths from the Dansadau Emirate in Maru Local Government Area allegedly attacked the PDP lawmaker, accusing him of poor leadership and lack of performance under the current administration.
Despite the presence of armed Nigerian security personnel who were seen attempting to control the situation, the angry youths reportedly overpowered them and carried out the attack.
Eyewitnesses said a crowd of youths surrounded the lawmaker, chanting loudly as they pelted him with stones during the confrontation.
