Ex-Rivers Rep Member Escapes Death As SUV Bursts Into Flames
A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke, on Monday escaped death by whiskers after his sport utility vehicle (SUV) burst into flames in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
Nwuke, who represented Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015, was driving himself when the incident occurred along the Eastern By-pass in the state capital.
Confirming the incident to LEADERSHIP in a telephone chat, the former lawmaker said, “I was driving to Trans Amadi when the incident occurred.
“In fact, it occurred in front of Hypercity in Eastern By-pass. But I thank God for the gift of life. I thank God that I survived.”
Writing on her official Facebook page, Nwuke’s eldest daughter, Ebony, said, “Today, God snatched my father from the very jaws of death. For that alone, my heart overflows with gratitude. Cars can be replaced, metal can be repaired, possessions can be counted and recounted, but a life is priceless and once gone, it is gone forever.
“Thank You, Abba Father, for choosing mercy. Thank You for life preserved, for breath restored, for hope renewed. You have turned what could have been mourning into dancing and clothed our family with a garment of praise instead of sorrow.”
