Gov. Mutfwang Assures Tinubu of One Million Votes as Says Goodbye to PDP and Joins APC

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has pledged that the state will deliver one million votes to President Bola Tinubu, saying Plateau is now more united than ever.

Mutfwang made the declaration on Friday in Jos while receiving his membership card of the All Progressives Congress (APC), after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He urged skeptics of his move to remain patient, noting that “time will reveal everything to the fearful.”

According to the governor, his long-standing goal has been to see a united Plateau. “If indeed you are in love with Plateau, you’re my brother. Today, I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel,” he said, adding that the state is witnessing the birth of a new political alignment driven by unity rather than division.

He described the development as a collective effort to pursue the interests of Plateau under the APC platform, emphasizing that the state is bigger than individual political differences.

“Today, we are laying the foundation for a new Plateau, where acrimony is reduced to the barest minimum,” Mutfwang stated.

Addressing his former party, the governor said members of the PDP he left behind remain his friends and brothers, stressing that they are still committed to the vision they began together.

On his relationship with President Tinubu, Mutfwang reaffirmed his loyalty to the president and his re-election bid. He said his defection would allow him to contribute more meaningfully to national development discussions and ensure Plateau is well represented.

Expressing optimism ahead of the 2027 elections, the governor said he expects one of the most peaceful polls in the state’s history and remained confident that Plateau would deliver one million votes for President Tinubu.
