Wizkid FC is the most ign%rant fanbase in the world. — Singer Seun Kuti rants

Afrobeat singer and activist Seun Kuti has criticized Wizkid’s fan base, Wizkid FC, for repeatedly invoking the name of his late father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, in online music debates. In a detailed Instagram video, Seun accused the fans of ignorance and disrespect, urging them to stop dragging Fela into comparisons with modern artists.

He said, “Keep Fela’s name out of your (Wizkid FC) mouths. Why must you find a way to bring Fela always into your discussions?” Seun argued that labeling any contemporary musician as the “new Fela” shows a misunderstanding of his father’s legacy, noting that such claims often collapse under scrutiny.

“You try to st£al the man. You try to claim that this your artiste is the new Fela. Then, when you people saw that you couldn’t wear those pants, that the shoes were too big to fill, you now turn around. If your lack of respect came from a place of defiance, I would respect it. But your lack of respect comes from a place of ignorance. Complete ignorance,” he added.

Seun also condemned t%xic fan culture for sparking unnecessary rivalry in the music industry, urging fans to appreciate music without constant comparisons. He emphasized that impactful art should inspire reflection and calm, not online battles. Recalling past confrontations with Wizkid FC, he stated he would not back down in defending his father’s legacy, which remains open to respect but not debate.
