In a new Time cover story titled “Trump’s W@r,” President Donald Trump addressed concerns about Iran retaliating against Americans on U.S. soil amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
When asked by correspondent Eric Cortellessa whether Americans should worry about att@cks at home, Trump, 79, said, “I guess.”

He added, “But I think they’re worried about that all the time. We think about it all the time. We plan for it. But yeah, you know, we expect some things.” Trump acknowledged potential casualties, saying, “Like I said, some people will d+e. When you go to w@r, some people will d+e.”
His remarks come days after six U.S. service members were k+lled in a retaliatory drone strike following a joint U.S.-Israel attack on Iran. The conflict has resulted in over 1,000 d+aths, with the Iranian Red Crescent Society reporting “1,009 emergency response teams deployed across 153 affected counties.”
