Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission has taken to his official X handle to react after a legal practitioner who was reported dead appeared in court to conclude his case in Rivers State. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the lawyer appeared to conclude the work for which he was martyred.

Orange had earlier posted the news regarding the appearance of a reported dead lawyer in a law court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.
The lawyer, whose identities were not ventilated to the general public was said to have been strangled to death while handling a sensitive case in December, 2026 and buried in February, 2026.

Reacting, Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, disclosed the reasons why the lawyer appeared.
Chidi Odinkalu, widely admired for his outspokenness, pointed out that the lawyer appeared to conclude the case for which he was martyred.
