There Are Some People I Can Never Fight - Omoyele Sowore Reveals Categories Of People He Can’t Fight

Former presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, has stated that his involvement in the case surrounding BLord and VeryDarkMan has concluded, following developments after the bail proceedings. Sowore made the remarks while addressing journalists in a statement aired by TV Platinum on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Explaining his position, he said, “My role ends here and my role ends whenever somebody who I judge or is a judge to be undergoing oppression no longer suffer oppression. And I’ll move on to my next issue which all of you always know and I know you want to ask questions, I know you want to fight.”

He further addressed his stance on engaging with individuals he has previously supported, stating, “No, there are some people I can never fight. And the categories of people I can never fight are people who I have always fought for to enjoy liberty, to enjoy the rights to apply their trade. I can’t go back and fight such a person even if the person fights me to tomorrow.”

Sowore reiterated his long-standing position on activism and personal sacrifice, emphasizing the broader objective of securing freedom for others. According to him, “As I said last time, if it is necessary for me to be buried so that other people can have freedom, just bury me, produce better activists.”

He also highlighted the importance of a free society, adding, “But don’t forget that you need a country in which everybody is free to do what they want and that’s what brought me into this.”

Referencing his ongoing legal concerns, Sowore stated, “I have my own cases that I should be worried about. Tinubu still wants to jail me.”
