“I Don’t Sing My Praise, But I Am A Silent Worker” — First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has described herself as a silent worker who prefers results over publicity, while highlighting her years of political experience and grassroots engagement.

Speaking during an interview on Unuatta TV News, the First Lady said she had initially planned to address certain issues after the 2027 elections but felt compelled to respond now.

“I’ve run elections, not once, not twice, thrice. The first woman to be in the state for three terms. I don’t sing my praise, but I’m a silent worker,” she said.

Oluremi Tinubu stressed that her leadership style is rooted in hard work and direct engagement with the people rather than media attention.

“I’m not somebody who likes to say I’m in the press today, but I work hard. And if I tell you I work seven days a week, I connect with the grassroots,” she stated.

The First Lady also pointed to her record of regular town hall engagements, saying she remains the only woman to have consistently held quarterly town hall meetings.

“And if you come and don’t connect with the grassroots, and I will say, hit my chest today, I will still be the only woman who has ever done town hall meeting every quarter,” she added.
