Troops Rescue Widow of Late Major General Rabe Abubakar After Fierce Gun Battle” Days after the former Director of Defence Information tragically died from health complications in captivity, military forces have successfully rescued his wife, Mrs. Amina Abubakar. She is currently receiving treatment for gunshot wounds sustained during the rescue operation.

According to an exclusive report by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the rescue operation was carried out under Operation CLEAN SWEEP III following intelligence-driven offensives launched in Matazu and surrounding communities after the abd¥ction of the retired military officer and members of his family.

Military sources told Zagazola Makama that troops tracked the b@ndits to Tunga village during a search-and-rescue mission, where they engaged the criminals and forced them to flee under intense military pressure.

During the encounter, the bandits reportedly sh+t Mrs. Abubakar before abandoning her and escaping.

“The bandits sh+t her and fled when we made contact at Tunga village. We have rescued Mrs. Abubakar. She is bl++ding, we have given her first aid and are moving her for urgent medical attention,” a military source disclosed.

The sources said soldiers immediately stabilised the victim at the scene before evacuating her to a medical facility for further treatment.

Military authorities also confirmed that follow-up operations have been intensified across the area, with troops pursuing fleeing bandits and suspected kingpins linked to the att@ck and earlier abd¥ction.

Security sources said the ongoing Operation CLEAN SWEEP III would continue until criminal hideouts in the region are dismantled, stressing that efforts are underway to apprehend all those responsible.
