Oba of Benin Ianvokes Powerful Traditional C¥rses on K+dnappers, Armed Robbers and Ev+l-Doers in Edo

The Benin Monarch, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has invoked a powerful traditional c¥rse against k+dnappers, armed robbers and anyone plotting ev+l within the Benin Kingdom and across Edo State.

The spiritual exercise, led by the revered monarch, was carried out through priests and priestesses of various shrines, the Ewaise (traditional physicians), the Iwebo society and Aiyelala.

The solemn procession began from the Oba’s Palace and culminated at the palace’s main entrance in Benin City, where participants, dressed in ceremonial regalia and carrying sacred traditional objects, performed rituals and poured libations.

During the ceremony, they invoked ancestral spirits to bear witness against those responsible for v+olent crimes, as well as individuals aiding or collaborating with criminals in any part of Edo State.

The spiritual declaration is seen as a strong traditional stance by the Benin throne against the growing menace of k+dnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities in the state.
