Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, has condemned the continued k+llings across Nigeria, criticizing what he described as the government’s silence and inaction over the worsening insecurity.
During a sermon, Oyedepo declared that “judgment has finally come” for those behind the vi%lence, saying, “You can’t sla¥ghter members of my family and want me to pray for you. I pray against you, against your household, against your generation, in the name of Jesus.”
The cleric alleged that the perpetrators of the k+llings were being sponsored, adding, “Everybody knows that these w*cked people are being sponsored. Anyone who doesn’t know that has a problem. Every sponsor of k+llers in Nigeria, you come under a curse today. The curse of the Lord hits you today.”
Lamenting the continued bl%%dshed, he accused the government of pretending not to know what was happening.
“Do you know how they k+ll people every day and government is pretending not to know what to do? I’ve kept quiet. When you see God keep quiet at w+ckedness, it’s because the bubble is about to burst,” he said.
Quoting scripture, Oyedepo added, “I’ve long time held my peace, God said, but now I’ll rise like a wounded lion and I’ll devour at once,” insisting that “when you see God keep quiet at the w+ckedness of the w+cked, it’s because the bubble is about to burst. This bubble will burst.”
The bishop also questioned the government’s response to the att@cks, saying, “I’ve not had any statement from government quarters against the k+llings. I’m yet to hear one. Are human lives not of value anymore?”
He further criticized what he described as misplaced priorities, asking, “And now you mustn’t preach in the bus, is that an issue? My God, do you think we’re dummies?”
Oyedepo concluded by saying God had assured him that “the bubble will burst,” maintaining that those sponsoring or enabling the k+llings would ultimately face divine judgment.
