The Ohanaeze Youth Council, the apex sociocultural youth organization of the Igbo race worldwide, under the leadership of Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, has commended Sheikh Yahaya Jingir for his recent justification and endorsement of the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
During a press conference in Owerri on August 12, 2026, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, National President General of Ohanaeze Youth Council, stated that Sheikh Yahaya Jingir’s statement is not merely rhetorical but rather a deliberate Islamic agenda by Islamist jihadist extremists to eradicate Christians from Northern Nigeria to Southern Nigeria.
Comrade Igboayaka stated that “Ndigbo has appreciated Sheikh Yahaya Jingir’s revelation, noting that Northern and Southwest Muslims’ pursuit of an independent Muslim country is acceptable, but characterizing Nigeria, a multi-national, multi-religious nation, as a Muslim country infringes upon fundamental human rights regarding religion and worship.”
It is clear that Sheikh Yahaya Jingir’s statement has provided credence and credibility to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s call for the restoration of the Republican State of Biafra through a referendum.
Sheikh Yahaya Jingir’s statements revealed that various pro-Biafran groups, including Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Movement For Sovereign State Of Biafra (MASSOB), Eastern Peoples Congress (EPC), Movement Of Biafra In Nigeria (MOBIN), Revolution Council Of Biafra (RCB), Biafra Scientist, Biafra Zonist, Biafra Government In Exile, Biafra National League, Biafra Independent Movement etc should escalate their efforts towards securing a proper Referendum for the peaceful dissolution of Nigeria so Muslims can secure their independent Muslim country.
In the words of Sheikh Yahaya Jingir “I urge you to prepare your vote, let us show the world that infidels are lying that they outnumber us. Show the infidels their limits. Nigeria is a Muslim country and if you don’t want to accept a Muslim-Muslim ticket , you should leave Nigeria because it belongs to us. If not because of Muslim-muslim ticket, the Christians in Nigeria will think they are more than us. This is why we must make sure the Muslim-Muslim continues ticket continues to succeed so that our dominance will remain and sustained”
In a strategic remark and reaction, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka concurred with Sheikh Yahaya Jingir that Nigeria’s unity is not guaranteed and sustainable due to religious extremism. Therefore, any region or tribe that is not comfortable with the Muslim-Muslim ticket or Nigeria being a Muslim country should leave Nigeria and form their own country.
Comrade Igboayaka lamented that his New Year message in January 2026, which advised default Biafrans or Ndigbo to prepare for their exit from Nigeria, has been corroborated by Sheikh Yahaya Jingir’s statement, thereby affirming his prophetic guidance to Ndigbo that Nigeria is irredeemable irreconcilable and Irreparable Referendum or Plebiscite remain the only viable option for Nigerians to survive Jihadist extramist agenda.
The federal government’s silence means consent and it has resulted in none of the presidential media outlets condemning the inflammatory religious statements. This reveals the agenda of the Muslim-dominated government led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima. Sheikh Yahaya Jingir’s statement should not have generated religious controversy or suspicion, but it is a convincing statement that aligns with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s campaign that Nigeria is in desperate need of a referendum or plebiscite. I therefore call on tribes, groups, and individuals who are not comfortable with Sheikh Yahaya Jingir’s statement to initiate a campaign for a possible referendum in Nigeria within the shortest time possible, to avoid further religious killings in Nigeria, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka concluded.
