Mrs Berida Irawo, who was reportedly set on f+re by her husband, Jacob Irawo, in Lokoja, Kogi State, has pleaded for his forgiveness following the horrific domestic incident.
The incident occurred at Oworo Estate, Felele, Lokoja, on Friday, August 14, 2026. Preliminary findings indicate that the incident followed a domestic disagreement after Berida reportedly b¥rnt some of her husband’s clothes which she believed he was no longer using, without his permission.
The husband reportedly became angry, threatened her, fetched petrol from his motorcycle and proceeded to set her abl@ze.
However, a fresh update has emerged following a visit to the victim at the hospital by Pastor John Esiga Abu on Tuesday, August 18.
Abu said Berida is currently in stable condition and is expected to be discharged in the coming days. He also revealed that the victim pleaded for her husband’s forgiveness, despite the att@ck.
According to Abu, Jacob’s behaviour and statements immediately after the incident appeared incoherent, raising concerns about his mental state and the need for proper mental evaluation.
