Former boxing world champion Zolani “Last Born” Tete has been sh%t de@d outside his home in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, South Africa, at the age of 38.
Tete was reportedly sitting in his car waiting for the gate to his residence to open when two men wearing balaclavas allegedly approached and opened f+re. He was pronounced d+ad at the scene, while a 27-year-old woman who was with him was also sh%t multiple times and rushed to hospital.
Police said the motive for the att@ck remains unknown and investigations are ongoing, while members of the public have been urged to provide information that could assist the probe.
Tete fought 34 professional bouts and became a two-time world champion, winning the IBF junior-bantamweight title in 2014 and the bantamweight title in 2017. He also held the Guinness World Record for the fastest knockout in a world title fight.
