President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after an extended stay in Europe, dismissing concerns about his health and insisting that he is fit and ready to resume his duties.
Tinubu spoke briefly with journalists at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday evening shortly after his aircraft landed at about 6pm.
Asked how his vacation went, the President simply replied, “I enjoyed myself.”
Addressing speculation about his health during his time outside the country, Tinubu said, “Rumours will always emanate from politics. The fact remains that I’m here, healthy, sound and ready to go. Ready to kick, ready to walk. There’s nothing wrong.”
He was received at the airport by Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abas Tajudeen, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
