FBI Raids Suspected Fraud Compound In Ghana, Arrests Over 130 People, Seizes 300+ Devices

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced another crackdown on a global sc@m centre in Ghana, with nearly $10 million in identified losses and 89 victims linked to the operation so far.

FBI Director Kash Patel disclosed this in a post on his official X account on Thursday, saying the operation, codenamed “Operation Blackout,” was the latest takedown targeting sc@m compounds operating in different parts of the world.

According to the FBI, more than 130 individuals have been arrested or detained, including trafficking victims who are expected to be repatriated to their home countries.

Authorities also seized more than 300 devices during the operation, while investigations into the scam network remain ongoing.

The FBI said such sc@m compounds target American citizens, resulting in significant financial and personal losses.

The latest operation forms part of the FBI’s broader Operation Blackout, which has so far recorded roughly $17 billion in seized funds, hundreds of alleged scammers arrested and thousands of trafficked workers freed.
