Shock and grief have trailed the d+ath of fast-rising Nigerian Twitter influencer and chef, Esther Meinzide, popularly known as Big Esther, who reportedly d+ed alongside her sister in a fatal road accident near Bethel, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
The tragic crash occurred at about 4:55pm on Wednesday on a wet, rainy road. A preliminary report by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) indicated that the accident involved a high-speed head-on collision with a Sino Gas truck and claimed nine lives — three males and six females.
Esther, who was known on X as @BigEsther30, was reportedly travelling to Delta State with her sister when the accident occurred.
The young influencer was a recent Philosophy graduate of Delta State University, Abraka, and had been gaining attention on social media while also pursuing her passion for cooking.
The bodies of the victims were deposited at the General Hospital morgue in Ijebu-Ode, while the two vehicles involved were towed to the Ilese Police Station.
The incident has sparked an outpouring of grief online, particularly following reports that Esther had tweeted barely a month before her d+ath about the type of d+ath she feared most, which reportedly occurred in the fatal crash.
