2027: He Is Running After Me— President Tinubu Hails Son, Seyi’s Work With City Boy Movement, Urges Him To Do More

President Bola Tinubu has publicly praised his son and other young people behind the City Boy movement, while urging them to do more and set an example for future generations.

Speaking at an event, the president said he had received several calls in recent weeks from people asking about his son’s involvement in the initiative and what he was pursuing politically.

“I got some calls in the last few weeks asking me, ‘What’s he running for?’” Tinubu said, drawing applause and cheers from the audience.

He responded humorously, “He’s running after his father,” prompting further reactions from the crowd.

Tinubu commended the young people for dedicating their time to the movement, saying they had approached their peers, listened to their concerns and organised them without seeking titles or political offices.

“You did it humbly. You did not ask for a title or an office,” he said, expressing pride in their efforts.

The president also encouraged them to see their involvement as the beginning of a bigger responsibility rather than an achievement to rest on.

“But I will tell you what every father tells his son. You have only started. Do more. Go further,” he said.

Tinubu further urged them to conduct themselves in a way that would make their children and future generations proud, reminding them that Nigerians were watching their activities.

“Set an example that your own children, my grandchildren, will be proud to follow,” he added.

He concluded by stressing the importance of national service, telling the young people that serving their country should be regarded as the highest honour.

“Nigeria is watching. So, they know that to serve your country is the highest honour,” he said.
