According to a report by Punch Newspaper on Friday, August 22, 2025, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has once again issued a warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu concerning his relationship with Vice President Kashim Shettima and his political ambition for a second term in 2027.
The cleric cautioned that America is determined to work against Tinubu’s administration and his re-election bid, stressing that the president must carefully manage his partnership with the vice president.
Primate Ayodele, through a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, emphasized that dropping Shettima as running mate would not be in the president’s favor.
He pointed out that even if disagreements arise between them, Tinubu should find a way to resolve them, as letting go of the vice president could complicate his political plans.
According to him, unity within the presidency is essential for Tinubu’s political survival.
He also revealed that America is not backing Tinubu’s second-term ambition and would go as far as making efforts to ensure his removal from office.
The cleric warned that external influences are strongly against the continuation of Tinubu in power, and this should be taken seriously as he prepares for the coming years in office.
Primate Ayodele explained that the issues facing the president are not about individuals in his government but rather the pressing challenges confronting Nigeria.
He noted that removing or replacing anyone within the administration will not automatically provide solutions to the nation’s problems, instead, the focus should be on addressing the real concerns of citizens.
