NAF Airstrikes Destroy Torrorist Stronghold in Sambisa Forest
The Nigerian Air Force has launched a significant aerial a§§ault on Arra, a notorious torrorist hideout within the Sambisa Forest, dealing what authorities described as a major setback to insurgent operations.
In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, confirmed that the mission was executed on the orders of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
Ejodame explained that the operation was based on intelligence gathered from surveillance missions that tracked fighters believed to be linked to the October 17 ambush in Kashomri. Continued ISR monitoring over the Kashomri–Sambisa corridor revealed unusual movements and structures in Arra, indicating terrorist activity.
NAF aircraft subsequently carried out several precise and coordinated strike runs on the identified location, hitting all intended targets and severely weakening the terrorists’ operational systems. The bombardment disrupted their command structure, supply routes, and gathering points.
According to Ejodame, the mission reflects the Air Force’s determination to protect the country, dismantle t+rrorist networks, and support ground troops across various operational fronts.
He reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to eliminating thr£ats, safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial sovereignty, and promoting lasting peace nationwide.
