Driver lies under LASTMA vehicle to evade arrest
Drama as a commercial driver sighted hiding under a LASTMA vehicle come as a surprise in order to avert
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority Popularly known as LASTMA is an autonomous body charged with the administration, control and management of road traffic matters with a system of operations that is responsive to the demand of traffic order in to: Improve condition and appearance of roads. Improve conditions for exposed road users.
In the course of their operations, they encounter many traffic offenders daily, some comply with the operatives, while some try to evade arrest.
A commercial driver yesterday in Ikeja, stripped off his clothes and lay under a truck of the Lagos State Transportation Authority, LASTMA to avoid being arrested.
The driver claimed that officials of Lagos State Transportation Authority “made his life very frustrating.”
The frustrated driver, who remained unclad under the vehicle told LASTMA officials to kill him instead of arresting him.
He added that he was also arrested yesterday and was unable to remit money to the car owner.
Residents gathered and begged him to put on some clothes and exit from under the vehicle, but he refused.
