The Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, has failed to honour a police invitation over allegations of multiple r+pe and other offences considered capable of causing a breach of public peace.
The cleric was invited to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos, by 10:00 a.m. on Monday to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the department. The invitation followed directives by the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Olohundare Jimoh, who ordered a thorough investigation into the allegations.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the police had received several complaints bordering on alleged s+xual offences, prompting the formal invitation extended to the pastor. However, a senior police officer at the SCID, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed on Monday that Okafor did not appear as requested.
“Following the commissioner’s directive, the deputy commissioner instructed officers handling the matter to debrief him. They waited throughout the day, but he did not show up,” the source said. The police also urged alleged victims to report to the SCID, assuring that their identities would be kept confidential.

The controversy surrounding Pastor Okafor began in mid-December 2025 after multiple allegations surfaced on social media. Nollywood actress Doris Ogala alleged in Instagram videos that she had been involved in a long-term s+xual relationship with the cleric from 2017, accusing him of making unfulfilled promises of marriage, sharing explicit materials, and contributing to the breakdown of her previous marriage.
The allegations have sparked discussions within religious circles, with reports indicating that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria may consider disciplinary measures. The pastor is also said to have stepped aside from pastoral duties as investigations continue.
