Media personality Madam Joyce sparked reactions online with her controversial comment during a recent podcast interview with “cocktails and takeaways”, sharing her bold take on gifting in early relationships. Asking whether “boos are meant to be getting gifts,” she set social media buzzing.

In the clip, she said, “Should we even get gift for our boos? If a guy is taking you out on Valentine’s Day and you guys have been dating for only four months, you shouldn’t get him anything as gift. Even if you want to, get him some chocolate or nice card or maybe pair of socks if you do not want to be selfish.”

Sharing from personal experience, she added, “If I was three months in, then your gift is me in red dress and red panties.” Madam Joyce explained that she had a friendship for ten months but only gave gifts after “months and months of him paying for dates and buying me gifts and being an amazing person.”
