AIG Moshood Jimoh Lobbies For Lagos FCIID Alagbon Posting After Failing To Secure Zone 2 Command

This comes after police sources confirmed that his bid to take charge of Zone 2 Police Command headquarters in Onikan, Lagos Island, amid ongoing shakeups and redeployments in the force, had failed.

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Olohundare Moshood Jimoh is lobbying to be redeployed as head of the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos, SaharaReporters has learnt.

This comes after police sources confirmed that his bid to take charge of Zone 2 Police Command headquarters in Onikan, Lagos Island, amid ongoing shakeups and redeployments in the force, had failed.

“AIG Jimoh will not be posted to Zone 2 Command after his lobbying failed. He is now lobbying to be redeployed to head the FCIID Annex in Alagbon, Lagos,” a top police source said.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) recently approved the promotion of Jimoh and 12 Commissioners of Police to the rank of AIG, following written examinations and oral interviews conducted at the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

According to SaharaReporters Jimoh, the outgoing Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, had been lobbying to remain in Lagos to head the Zone 2 Command.

Jimoh assumed office in February 2025 as the 41st Commissioner of Police in Lagos, succeeding Olanrewaju Ishola, who was redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The Zone 2 Police Command oversees policing operations, law enforcement and crime prevention across Lagos State and Ogun State.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Tijani Fatai, a Lagos-born police officer, had been penciled down as a possible replacement for Jimoh as Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
