Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, has debunked rumours on the death of her husband, Olu Jacobs, which went viral on social media yesterday.
Speaking with Journalists, Joke said her husband is alive, and the family found the report so depressing that they had to debunk it on time.
She further stated that the family had been getting calls from friends and associates who had wanted to know if the report was true.
She added that the birthday of Olu Jacobs is next month.
Immediately the report on his death went viral yesterday, Nollywood actress, Lala Akindoju, debunked it saying the veteran actor is doing fine.
Akindoju, who is a ‘family’ to Jacobs and his wife, said in a Twitter post that he spoke with the man and that he was “alive and well.” while warning Nigerians to desist from peddling fake news.
Olu Jacobs has been hailed by many as one of the most decorated African Actors of his generation. He is considered by several media, film commentators, critics, and other actors to be one of the most influential African actors of all time, and is widely regarded as a cultural icon.
