Fuji musician Taye Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, has revealed how he lost N10 million to a Ponzi scheme called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), pointing fingers at four of his close associates for luring him into the fr@udulent investment.
In a video that has gone viral, Taye Currency recounted on stage during a performance how he was introduced to CBEX by individuals identified as Sodiq, Small London, Lateef, and another unnamed associate.
He explained that Sodiq visited him on April 1 to share how others, including Lateef—the alleged brand manager of CBEX—had already invested large sums and made significant returns. According to him, Lateef claimed to have turned N200,000 into N600,000, which convinced him to invest his insurance savings into the scheme.
Currency said, “You’ll hear how CBEX took over N20 million from me and my people. Alaba even used N1.2 million he stole from the stage to invest. Brother Muca added his N500,000 work fee. Lateef invested N1.4 million.”
Unfortunately, all the money vanished, leaving him devastated. In the emotional video, he c¥rsed those who introduced him to the scheme, saying, “If they d+e well, they won’t rest well. I was minding my business before they brought CBEX to me.”
