The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has decried to continued solitary confinement of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

IPOB said Nigeria will regret rearresting Kanu if anything happens to him in the DSS custody.

Emma Powerful, spokesman of IPOB, issued the warning while lamenting that Kanu is placed in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day.

In a statement he signed, Powerful accused Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court of turning a blind eye to Kanu’s travails in the DSS custody.

The statement reads partly: “We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great and indefatigable leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU, once again, wish to raise alarm over the continuous detention of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in a solitary confinement at the State Security Services, DSS, headquarters, Abuja.

“We have seen that the presiding Judge handling this case, Hon. Justice Binta Nyako is an accomplice to the suffering of an innocent man who commited no crime known to law in Nigeria and the world.

“Binta Nyako refused to ensure that the DSS oblige and respect the fundantmental rights of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as extanctly provided.

“We are watching her and the DSS. If anything untoward happens to our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody, they will regret his rendition from Kenya to Nigeria. Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is being held in solitary confinement 23 hours every day.”
