U.S. Senator Proposes Bill to Penalise Non-Procreative Ejac¥l@tion
A U.S. state senator, Bradford Blackmon, has proposed a controversial bill aimed at banning men from ejac¥l@ting without the intent to impregnate a woman.
The bill, titled the “Contraception Begins at Er3ction Act,” was introduced to the Mississippi senate earlier this week.
As reported by WLBT News, the proposed legislation seeks to make it illegal for anyone to “discharge genetic material without the purpose of fertilising an embryo.”
If enacted, offenders would face fines ranging from $1,000 for a first violation, $5,000 for a second, and $10,000 for a third offence.
Senator Blackmon, a Democrat, explained that most contraception laws in the U.S., particularly in Mississippi, focus exclusively on women. He stated that his proposal aims to shift the focus and bring men’s roles into the discussion.
“All across the country, especially here in Mississippi, the vast majority of bills relating to contraception and/or ab%rtion focus on the woman’s role when men are fifty per cent of the equation.
This bill highlights that fact and brings the man’s role into the conversation. People can get up in arms and call it absurd, but I can’t say that bothers me,” he told WLBT News.
