Malcolm-Jamal Warner, beloved for his role as Theo Huxtable on the hit sitcom The Cosby Show, has d+ed at the age of 54.

According to reports by TMZ and the Associated Press, Warner passed away on Sunday while vacationing in Costa Rica. Authorities confirmed that the actor dr+wned while swimming at Playa Cocles in the Limón province. He was reportedly swept away by a strong ocean current between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. local time.

Despite being rescued by beachgoers and receiving immediate medical attention from the Costa Rican Red Cross, Warner was pronounced de@d at the scene.

The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency issued a statement confirming the tragic incident.

Warner rose to fame as a teenager when The Cosby Show premiered in 1984. He portrayed Theo, the only son of Bill Cosby’s character, through the show’s successful run until 1992. During that time, Warner also made guest appearances on Sesame Street, A Different World, and even hosted Saturday Night Live. His performance earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1986.

Known for keeping his personal life out of the spotlight, Warner is survived by his wife and daughter, who was born in 2017. Though he occasionally shared glimpses of them on social media, he kept their identities private.
